FRESHMAN ELEVEN TO PLAY YALE IN FINAL GAME TODAY

Large Injury List During Week Makes Harvard Freshman Team's Condition Somewhat Uncertain

In spite of the fact that 14 men were on the injury list of the Freshman squad Thursday, the 1938 team is favored to beat Yale today in the Bowl. Coach Gallagher will take 30 men down, starting at 9 o'clock this morning. He predicts a close game, since the Yale team has shown great improvement in the last few weeks, and always makes a better showing against Harvard than against its previous opponents. The Crimson aggregation has a much more impressive record for the season, having lost only to the Jayvees 13-9, while the Eli first year men have dropped their games with Princeton, Exeter, and Andover.

The Harvard team opened with a scoreless tie against Exeter, and then proceeded to beat Worcester Academy 19-6, Tufts Jayvees 40-7, and Dartmouth '38, 27-0.

The fact that fourteen men were removed from the injury list only yesterday might decrease Harvard's chances tomorrow, for Captain Oakes has been out all week with a broken rib received in the Jayvee game, and Pope, with a knee injury, may not be able to play. But a squad of experienced reserves are ready to back up the starting eleven.
