NSL Protests Expulsion of Five UCLA Undergraduates

Sends University Provost Telegram Demanding Reinstatement

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A telegram of protest was last night dispatched by the NSL to authorities of the University of California at Los Angeles, censuring the University's actions in suspending five students for alleged fostering of Communistic activities.

The five students suspended were connected with the National Student League, and according to Dr. Ernest Moore, provost of the university, were guilty of attempting "to destroy the university by handing it over to an organized group of Communist students." Dr. Moore further charged that the quintet had attempted to maintain an open forum which had "inclined toward radicalism."
