One of the most famous German theories of modern education will be discussed here next month when Dr. Gunther Wachsmuth and Dr. Hermann von Baravalle speak at Phillips Brooks. Both men are disciples of Dr. Rudolph Steiner, whose theories of education and scientific research gave rise to a new school of thought in Europe.
Dr. Wachsmuth, whose official title is Director of the Natural Science Section at the Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland, is the head of the laboratory which tests Dr. Steiner's ideas in the fields of biology and the physical sciences. Educated at the University of Munich and Oxford, Dr. Wachsmuth has devoted his life to studying the earth as a living organism. He is the author of two books, "Etheric Formative Forces in Cosmos, Earth, and Man" and "The Etheric World in Science, Art. and Religion".
His colleague in this series of lectures, which will be given on November 9 and 16 at 8.15 o'clock in the evening, is a teacher in the Waldorf School at Stuttgart, Germany.
