Calvert Magruder, Vice Dean of the Law School, was appointed yesterday as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board. He was granted a year's leave of absence and while in Washington will occupy the position vacated last night by William Gorham Rice, Jr., who is also a "brain truster," being a professor on the law faculty of the University of Wisconsin. Rice resigned and will return to his former position.
