Kirkland's election of a Sophomore to its House Committee last night resulted in a tie between Alfred C. Butterfield of Rochester, New York, and Floyd K. Haskell of Morristown, New Jersey. Another vote is being held this noon to decide the election.

The other four nominees were Octavus R. Cohen, Jr., George H. Edgell, Jr., Byron W. Moser, Jr., and William A. Salant.
