Contrary to general expectations Coach Eddie Casey has decided to alter the Varsity's starting lineup for the much-anticipated Holy Cross game tomorrow in order to give Bill Burton a chance at left tackle. This and the enforced absence of Freddy Moseley will be the only changes from the setup that blanked Brown 13-0 a week ago.
Litman In Good Shape
Moseley definitely will not be able to play, but Chet Litman is reported as being in good shape and entirely ready to take over the assignment. Litman himself was on the injured list for a couple of days this week.
Burton's promotion to a permanent berth on "A" team removes Bill Lane, who was in the line at the opening of both the Bates and Brown games. The left side of the Varsity's frontier came in for a good deal of criticism after the encounter with the Bruins, because in the first two periods the boys from Providence found the combination necessary to open the way for several plays in a row through that general sector.
The result was Casey's experiment of trying first Frank Schumann in place of Bob Brookings at guard and now Burton for Lane at tackle. Schumann is on the docket for a lot of work on Saturday as a first-string relief man. The starting lineup will be: Knapp, le; Burton, lt; Brookings, lg; Comfort, c; Gundlach, rg; Adlis, rt; Kelly, re; Haley, qb; Litman, lhb; Bilodeau, rhb; Jackson, fb.
