In a statement issued last night, Theodore Chase '34, treasurer of the Student Council, announced the financial condition of that organization.
The balance in the treasury on September 1 was $1,057.14. To date $5,192.25 has been collected from this year's pledges, and of this sum $102.29 has been spent for secretarial expenses, while $3,000 has gone to Phillips Brooks House, leaving a balance of $3,147.10. There remains $3,240.99 to be collected from pledges. Further expenditures from the treasury will be used for local charities, class activities, and the support of other organizations.
