CHAUNCEY, SAMBORSKI NEW BASEBALL COACHES

Bingham Announces Appointments of Freshmen and Jayvee Mentors -- To Call Out Batteries February 5

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Announcement of the appointment of Henry Chauncey '26, assistant Dean for Freshmen as 1937 baseball coach and Adolph W. Samborski '26 as Jayvee coach, was made yesterday by William J. Bingham '16, director of athletics. At the same time it was announced that Coach Fred Mitchell would call out Varsity battery candidates on Monday, February 5. Freshman battery candidates will probably be asked to report at the same time.

Chauncey has been dormitory coach since 1929 and previously coached football and baseball at the William Penn Charter school. While an undergraduate, Chauncey was catcher on the varsity baseball team, and dropkicking star for the football eleven.

Samborski is the director of intramural Athletics and is the coach of the freshman basketball team. As an undergraduate, he played football, basketball, and baseball with Varsity outfits.
