INTRAMURAL SPORTS TO COMMENCE SEASON SOON

NON-RESIDENTS WILL CONTINUE TO REPRESENT BROOKS.

Six inter-House competitions will begin during the fall season, it was announced yesterday by Adolph W. Samborski, director of intramural athletics. Arrangements have been made for the following fall sports: football, touch football, tennis, cross country, rowing, and golf.

In touch football, the season will begin much earlier this year than last year in order to lengthen the season and allow for the increasing interest in this sport. During the fall, tournaments will be held in tennis and golf so that teams may be selected before the spring season when the inter-House competition gets under way.

Despite the fact that the student council report suggested that commuters be allowed to play on House teams, it was decided by the department of intramural athletics that the most satisfactory solution to the commuter problem is to keep the Phillips Brooks House team for non-residents of the University dormitories. House Football-Players will report tomorrow for first practice at 3 o'clock on the house football fields. Get equipment today at your earliest convenience at Dillon Field House between 9 and 5 o'clock. The coaches will be as follows: William L. Phinney 3L, Winthrop House; Eward S. Amazeen, Lowell House; William H. Sturges, Phillips Brooks House; W. C. Brister 2G.B., Leverette House; Harold Yap, Eliot House; William Brooks 2L, Kirkland House; William Burrage, Adams House; Adolph W. Samborski, Dunster House.

The schedule will include 28 inter-House games and at least one outside game for each team. The final game between the winning House team and the leading Yale College team will be played at New Haven on Saturday, November 18 in the Yale Bowl.

House Touch Football--The season in this sport begins Monday, October 16, and closes Friday, November 17. The schedule includes 28 inter-House games. House Tennis-Tournaments in each House will begin Tuesday, October 3. The House teams will be selected from the outcome of this.

Inter-House Cross Country--Informal practice runs will be held during the fall, and on Wednesday, November 15, an inter-House meet will be run.

House Crew--informal races will take place during the fall, climaxed by long races in the week of November 13. Edward Brown will again coach this fall.

House Golf--Tournaments will be held during the fall at Trapelo Golf Course in Waltham. Winners will be selected for the House teams which compete in the spring.
