HARVARD FINISHES FOURTH IN REGATTA AT LONG BEACH

On Saturday a fighting but inexperienced Harvard crew was forced to bow to the superior skill of the Universities of Washington, Yale and Cornell, finishing fourth in the Intercollegiate Rowing Championships held at Long Beach, California. Washington won, nosing Yale out of first place by about six feet.

The Harvard eight was a totally different from that which defeated Yale over the four mile course earlier in the season, for it consisted entirely of Junior Varsity and Freshman oarsmen. The crimson had earlier beaten the University of California at Los Angeles to qualify for the finals. The Harvard boating; Coxswain, Bissell; Stroke, Drury; 7, Swayze; 6, Robertson; 5, Pierce; 4, Beane; 3, Atherton; 2, Whipple; Bow, Nickerson.
