Harvard Graduate To Give Award For Best Essay of James' Philosophy

Announcement of the Bechtel prize of $100 annually for the next two years, was made yesterday by the Department of Philosophy.

The prize is to be given through the generosity of Edwin DeTurck Bechtel '03, of New York City. Mr. Bechtel spent four years at Harvard as an undergraduate, and five years as a graduate, receiving his A.B. in 1903, an A.M. in 1904, and I.I.B. in 1908.

The award is to be made to the student writing the best essay on an approved subject connected with the Philosophy of William James.
