Red Top, Conn., June 15--The Harvard-Yale Regatta officially opened tonight when the Yale Combination crew outrowed by three lengths their Harvard rivals in the time of ten minutes, twenty seconds. Harvard took the lead at the start and held it to the mile mark, where the Yale shell overtook them, and remained ahead until the finish.

The Varsity boat held only a short workout today, running very smoothly. Practice emphasized racing starts in particular, and in putting finishing touches on form.

Harvard will hold east lane in all races.
