O. M. W. Sprague '94, Edmund Cogswell Converse Professor of Banking and Finance, has accepted the post of financial adviser to the United States government as special assistant to Secretary of the Treasury Woodin. Since 1930, Sprague, who is on leave of absence from the University, has held the position of economical and statistical adviser to the Bank of England. In Washington he will assist in the management of the administration's inflation policy.
Sprague was offered the post following a conference Monday with Secretary Woodin, Governor Black, Under-Secretary of the Treasury Acheson, and President Roosevelt.
