SCAFFOLDING ON CHAPEL PUT UP TO QUIET NOISY WINDOW

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Excessive rattling of one of the windows in Memorial Church, caused by the sounding of low notes on the organ, is the latest addition to the acoustic troubles University authorities have encountered since the new organ was installed.

The disturbing window is a black one set a feet behind the outside window. As the carpenters in charge of the repairs were forced to get at the window from the outside, a scaffolding was erected. Wedges driven into the casement to prevent the window from shaking have not proved satisfactory, and a brick wall may have to be erected.
