WHITESIDE TO RESTORE CREW SEATINGS TODAY

COACH CONTINUES EXPERIMENTS WITH NUMBER 3 POSITION

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Although Coach Whiteside took advantage of the two daily squad workouts during vacation to reorganize the three Varsity crews, pre-vacation seatings will, with a few changes, be restored today.

The absence of Bancroft from first shell practice last week because of an injured knee left vacant the number 5 position, which was filled alternately by members of the second and third crews. Bancroft will be on the river in his regular position this afternoon at five o'clock.

The only net change in the seating of the first Varsity shell since the middle of March has been the substitution at number 3 of Swayze, formerly of the Jayvees, for Barrows.

Coach Whiteside stated that no seatings are now definite. The substitution of Swayze for Barrows in the Varsity shell is an experimental filling of the single vacancy left by last year's first crew through the graduation of Erickson.

The third crew will not be discontinued until after the Navy race.

The seatings and time of departure from Newell Boathouse this afternoon of the three Varsity shells are as follows:
