ART SOCIETY SHOWING UNDERGRADUATE WORK

For the first time in its history, the Harvard Society for Contemporary Art is showing paintings of Harvard and Radcliffe undergraduates at its gallery in rooms 207 and 208 at 1400 Massachusetts Avenue. The display opened yesterday, and will continue each week day from 10 o'clock until 6 o'clock through Friday, March 31.

At present, it is doubtful if the Society will be able to sponsor another exhibition, because subscriptions from members outside the University have diminished, and despite the fact that student membership trebled last year, the Society can no longer afford to maintain its gallery. If this exhibition, however, increases popular interest sufficiently, and if the appeal for funds that is being sent out succeeds, the society plans to hold an exhibition in one of the downstairs galleries of the Germanic Museum sometime during the middle of May. At this time, the works of some living French artist of note will be shown.
