FRESHMAN CHESSMEN PLAY OPPONENTS THROUGH MAIL

Something new in the annals of the Freshman chess team is the match which two of its members are holding by mail with the Powell High School in Powell, Wyoming. A short time ago, Glenn Biesemeier of Powell wrote the members of the team challenging them to a match. As Harvard accepted, J. B. Hickam '36, and E. W. Marchand '36, two members of the team, are now playing four games with them.

Each week the Harvard players write down their moves for the four games and send them by postcard to Powell. The progress of the game is kept on a graph. It is expected that this match will last about a year.
