LOWELL AND BAXTER WILL ADDRESS 1936 ON CONCENTRATION

President Lowell, J. P. Baxter, III, associate professor of History, and Master of Adams House, and A. E. Hindmarsh, assistant dean of the College, will speak to members of the Class of 1936 this morning at 9 o'clock in the New Lecture Hall on the choice of a field of concentration. If any Freshmen have classes at this hour, absence from them will be excused.

The subject of President Lowell's speech will be "The Value of Concentration." This will be the last time the President will address the Freshmen on this subject. Professor Baxter will speak about the relation of the House and tutorial systems to the field of concentration.

Freshmen must announce their choice of concentration by Thursday, April 13. Two blanks, which are to be filled in and returned to the office of the Committee on the Choice of Electives, at C University Hall not later than 5 o'clock on that date, are being sent to every member of the Class. On one, a man must signify his plan of study for the next three years and mention the courses which he has taken his Freshman year; on the other, he must announce the courses he is planning to take next fall with the approval of his adviser.

Especial care should be taken to select those course which will cover a field of concentration adequately. Members of the Committee on the Choice of Electives or their representatives from the various departments will be glad to see Freshmen from Thursday, March 23, to Thursday, April 13. The consultation hours will be announced later this week.

Changes in a programme for 1933-34 may be made in September on the study card to be filled out at registration.

A pamphlet on "The Choice of a Field of Concentration" published jointly by the CRIMSON and the Committee on the Choice of Electives in 1929 may be obtained at the Information Desk, 4 University Hall, as long as the supply lasts.
