A hundred and twenty men reported to Coach Harry Cowles yesterday afternoon in the Linden Street squash courts as candidates for the Varsity and Freshman tennis teams. Practice will start for the Varsity squad tomorrow at the Linden Street courts and in the Indoor Athletic Building.
Coach Cowles already has a squad of 11 men at work. They include; W. E. Arensberg '33, captain, M. L. Baughman '35, C. S. Bryan '33, S. E. Davenport '34, Lawrence Friedman 1Dn., W. E. Ingalls '35, Richard Inglis '33, G. D. Key '33, J. F. Ray '34, Sumner Rodman '35, and F. P. Whitbeck '35.
The Freshman squad will not be chosen until after the spring tournament following the April vacation. Arrangements are being made, however, so that all candidates can practice during the next three weeks at Linden Street by paying $.25 per day.
Among the men who signed up yesterday are: A. C. Helmholz, 2d '36, winner of the fall tournament, J. J. Thackara '36, runner-up, G. G. Glidden '36, and three former Milton Academy players, G. S. Franklin, Jr. '36, R. W. Gilder '36, and J. A. Roberts '36.
