PROFESSOR YASHIRO IS MADE LECTURER FOR SECOND TERM

Noted Japanese Scholar Will Fill Post in Fine Arts Department

The appointment of one of Japan's most noted scholars as Lecturer on Fine Arts at Harvard for the second half of the present academic year, was announced this morning at University Hall, following confirmation by the President and Fellows of Harvard College.

The newly appointed lecturer is Professor Yukie Yashiro. Director of the institute of Art Research in Tokyo, and Professor of the History of Art at the imperial Academy of Art in the same city. He is one of the most eminent scholars in the subject of Oriental Art, and perhaps better known in Europe and America as the author of "Sandre Bettieelit." During his stay at Harvard. Professor Yashire will give lectures on historical and aesthetic aspects of Far Eastern Painting to members of the University.
