In one of the closest matches of the year, the University rifle team defeated the Trinity College five yesterday on the range at Arlington by a 436 to 423 score. Laubin of the Hartford aggregation carried away the scoring honors of the match, shooting 95 bulls eyes out of a possible 100. His performance was identical with his record last year, when the Harvard team was victorious by a 453 to 414 margin.

The match was as long as it was close, the shooting lasting from 11 o'clock yesterday morning until 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Each team fired one round offhand, one sitting, and two prone. J.B. Gregg '31, acting secretary of the Harvard marksmen, announced last night that the next meet for the Crimson team will be on May 13, when it will compete with the Boston College shooters.

The summary:

Score--Harvard 436, Trinity College 423. High scorer--Laubin (T.C.), 95; T.C.T. Buckley '32, 90; E.V. Seeler '32, 89; Mitchell (T.C.), 89; H.G. Bartol '31, 88; Wellington Wells '31, 86; Doolittle (T.C.), 86; W.M. Wing '31 83; Baldwin (T.C.), 78; Eddy (T.C.), 75.
