Opening the wrestling season Saturday, the Varsity grapplers defeated M. I.T. 21-11, while the Freshmen trounced Tech's first year matmen 26-10. The matches were held in the Indoor Athletic Building.
After the first three matches in the Varsity meet, Tech was leading 11-6, but Harvard's big three, Captain Richard Ames '34, Gridley Barrows '34, and Richard W. Emory '35, came through just as they did last year. Emory made the count 11-9 when he won by decision over Poole of Tech, and Ames and Barrows turned in five points apiece as the result of falls scored over Friedman and Barrows.
