FRESHMEN DEFEAT TECH MERMEN IN FIRST MEET

Jamison Stars in 45 1/2 to 20 1/2 Victory, Setting New 200-Yard Record; Dodge Outstanding for Visitors

Amassing a total of 45 1-2 points from the eight scheduled events, the Freshmen swimming team defeated the M.I.T. freshmen in its initial meet of the season held in the Indoor Athletic Building on Saturday afternoon. A. Gregory Jameson proved to be the star of the meet, shattering the 200-yard free-style record by almost four seconds.

The individual star for Tech was Dodge, the only double victor of the day.

Score: Freshmen 45 1-2; M.I.T. Freshmen 20 1-2.

100-yard breaststroke--Won by David Dove; second, Bertram S. Wolfson; third, McCune (MIT). Time: 1 min., 22 seconds.

200-yard freestyle--Won by A. Gregory Jameson; second, Paul L. Callan; third, Burnet (MIT). Time: 2 min., 12 2-5 seconds. Establishes new Freshmen Record.

100-yard backstroke--Won by Carl L. Goullaud; second, William H. Cann; third, Fischel (MIT). Time: 1 min. 13 seconds.

Dive--Won by Frederick L. Woodlock; second, John R. Westervelt; third, Rogers (MIT). Winners points--55.99.
