VARSITY ELEVEN GOES THROUGH DRAB DRILL

PROUTY AND LITMAN SHOW UP WELL IN WORKOUT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A mottled, drab program was on the schedule at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon when the Varsity was drilled for the coming West Point game and the regulars got their first look at the Army plays.

The Jayvees put on a demonstration of West Point offensive in a dummy scrimmage under the tutelage of Jimmy Knox, who has been observing the Army team in its last games. The Varsity was then sent through an offensive pass drill while the Jayvees had an informal scrimmage with the "C" club.

The scrimmage only lasted for 10 minutes and, since Casey worked out with individual assignments, no attention was paid to attempts at a score. Prouty and Litman looked good in this workout and showed promise that they would keep up the good work that they turned in during the Lehigh game. Prouty is a capable passer and a good field general and Litman is the hardest runner of the halfback competitors.

Casey would have liked to scrimmage the "A" and "B" teams yesterday afternoon but was afraid to take a chance on having more injuries. The team "A" lineup for yesterday was as follows; White l.e.; Rogers. Francises, l.t,; Crane l.g.; Casey, e.; Gundlach r.g.; Kopane, r.t.; Nazro. R.e.; Hsley q.b.; Sherman, Locke, l.h.b.; Lsne r.h.b.; Dean, f.b
