STUBBS CALLS MEETING OF HOCKEY CANDIDATES

UNDEFEATED 1936 TEAM TO GIVE RESERVE STRENGTH

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first call for candidates has been sounded by Coach Joe Stubbs, and at a meeting of the prospective stickmen at the Varsity Club at 5.30 o'clock today he will discuss plans for the coming season.

The outlook is fairly bright in spite of the fact that five of the men who faced Yale last winter are lost by graduation. There are six others who played in the Yale series who are coming back. Besides this some sophomores will report.

Outstanding veterans returning from the 1932-3 team is Paul DeB. DeGive '34, goalie and only junior to start against Yale in the last series, who was elected to captain this year's icemen. But five others who saw service in the Blue tilts will make up a complete sextet of experienced players. A forward line of Wyndham L. Hasler '34, Benjamin Beale '34, and William A. Lincoln '35, is returning, to be backed by Elmer F. Dow '34 and Francis H. Gleason '34, on the defense.

For reserves, Coach Stubbs will look to a group of promising sophomores who kept the 1936 team undefeated all last winter. Samuel R. Callaway 36, Benjamin H. Hallowell '36, Frederick R. Moseley '36, and Francis J. Lane, head the list in this group.

The Varsity schedule follows:

Dec. 12 M.I.T.; Dec. 22, McGill at Montreal; Jan. 6, Toronto at New York; Jan. 8, McGill; Jan. 10, Boston University; Jan. 13, Princeton at Princeton; Jan 20, Princeton; Jan 27, Boston University; Feb. 10, Dartmouth at Hanover; Feb. 12, Princeton playoff if necessary; Feb. 16, Dartmouth; Feb. 19 or 21, Dartmouth playoff if necessary; Feb. 24, Yale at New Haven; Mar. 3, Yale; Mar. 7, Yale playoff if necessary at New Haven.
