The Harvard Junior Varsity football team played the Providence College Freshmen team in a game which ended in a 6-6 tie yesterday at Soldiers Field. Right half-back Gibbs scored for the Jayvees after a 25 yard run early in the second period. DeGive's try for the extra point went wide. The only other time that Harvard was within scoring distance of the goal was early in the first period, immediately after the opening kickoff. Two first downs were made which brought the ball to Providence's 26 yard line, and there the ball was held on downs.
The Providence College Freshmen team made its lone score late in the second period after a series of completed passes. The last pass from Garbecki to Banahan gave the visitors the touchdown. Providence was within scoring distance again in the last period when it advanced the ball to Harvard's 22 yard line, but was repulsed by the strong Crimson line.
