In order to stimulate interest in fencing in the University, Coach Rene Peroy of the Varsity swordsmen has scheduled an exhibition match for Friday at 8 o'clock in the New Athletic Building. In this match, Joseph L. Lewis, a former member of the M. I. T. fencing team, and runner-up in the foils in the 1932 Olympic Games, will fence with members of the squad and with Coach Peroy.
Fencing prospects this year are excellent, with the return of five members of last year's team, which won the A.F.L.A. championship, headed by Captain John G. Hurd '34, University champion in the epee. Coach Peroy expects to fill the two remaining places on the team within the next few days.
