Playing a faster and more intelligent game of soccer than the Crimson players had to offer, the Fitchburg State Teachers College team overcame the Harvard Varsity 2-1 last Saturday on the field behind the Business School. The upstate booters scored early in the first period and kept the game well in hand until the peppier final quarter, when both Fitchburg and Harvard tallied.
Only expert work on the part of Captain William Wemple '34 and goalic Jonathan E. England '35 prevented the Normal School team from scoring during the second and third quarters.
The summary: Score--Fitchburg 2, Harvard 1. Goals--Southworth, Johnson, Stork, Referee--R. H. Mills. Time--Four 22-minute quarters.
