Surprise Victory Gains Him Place in Semi-Final--Katseff Triumphs in B Tournament Match

In the most surprising upset of the University Tennis Tournament, Stanley G. Haskins '35 eliminated Franklin P. Whitbeck '35, yesterday afternoon in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Haskins is a comparative unknown, while Whitbeck was the captain of his Freshman team. This victory for Haskins places him in the semi-final round.

In the "B" tournament. Harry Katseff '35 reached the semi-finals by beating Edward B. Lee, Jr. '34, 9-7, 6-4. Katseff had trouble in the first set, but won after the games had reached eight all.
