German Club Opens Second Year Tonight Under Hawkes

40 Members To Meet in Lowell Tower For First Discussion of Season

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Opening its second season, the German Club will meet at eight o'clock this evening in the Lowell House Tower Room under the direction of James M. Hawkes '26, instructor in German. Several lectures by visiting men and members of the club will be given during the course of the year on politics, art, and literature.

Owing to the success of last year's beer garden dance at the Hotel Commander, there will be several such affairs this winter. It is probable that the club will perform one or two plays in addition.

The club, which has 40 members, was organized last year by Dr. Hawkes on the basis of a German Culture club, which are so numerous in that country. The officers of the organization are: E. H. Ober '35, president; P. D. Wylie '36, secretary, and A. S. White '36, treasurer.
