With a dominating force that characterized the whole tournament, the Harvard chess team swept through to final and decisive victory when they met and defeated their last contestant, Dartmouth, in the H.Y.P.D. matches held December 21 to 23, at the Marshall Chess Club of New York City. This is the fifth time that they have annexed the intercollegiate chess crown, and during the entire game-play, the Cambridge contestants lost but half la point, winning eleven and a half. The Belden-Stephens Trophy remains in Crimson custody until next year, when it has been agreed that the next tournament will be held at the same dates as this year's.
