In the struggle for the State Championship now going on, Robert Grant '34, top-ranking man on the Varsity squad, defeated his teammate, G. H. Hartford, II '34, in a five game match last Wednesday afternoon. T. E. Jansen, Jr. '26, former Crimson star, and seeded No. 1 in the present tournament, experienced a surprise upset when he was defeated by Cross of the Union Boat Club in one of the early rounds.
