In accordance with its policy of giving recognition to mature and original work by undergraduates, the University announced yesterday the publication in book from of honor these by two members of last year's graduating class. The two books to be brought out this fall are "Shilling Schockers of the Gothic School" by W. W. Watt '32, and "Giants and Dwarfs" by P. H. Futcher '32. The first volume will be published this week and the second about the middle of October.
Publication of honor theses was begun three years ago by the department of English, which arranged publication of two of the best theses written by Seniors in that Department. Last year, through the generosity of H. N. Straus '03, the plan was extended to provide publication of honor theses and prize essays written by Seniors in all fields of study. Last year, four volumes by undergraduates were published in this way, in addition to two books brought out by the English department.
The book by Watt is being published under the auspices of the English Department and that by Futcher through the Straus Fund.
