Charles Francis Adams To Give Out Commissions on Thursday--Watson Ordered Away

Twenty-three members of the Senior Class will receive commissions as Ensigns in the Naval Reserve immediately following the graduating exercises on Thursday in the Lecture Hall of the Fogg Museum. Charles Francis Adams '88, Secretary of the Navy, will give out the commissions. Members of the Committee of Military and Naval Science at Harvard will be present.

Announcement was also made yesterday that Commander Williams, U.S.N., will replace Captain Adolphus Watson, U.S.N. as the head of the Department of Naval Science and Tactics at Harvard. Captain Watson, who was formerly Chief-of-Staff on the Battleship Division of the Pacific Fleet, has been ordered to duty on the General Board of the Navy Department.
