The Department of Naval Science will have the use of the western end of the basement of Memorial Hall next year, it was learned yesterday. The space will be used for the regular laboratory work in Naval Science courses and also for storage purposes.
Pending a final decision on the construction of a new fire station, the Department will also retain the use of the Rogers Building for drill purposes, in conjunction with the Harvard Dramatic Club. Rumors that the University is contemplating the purchase of the Rogers Building from the City of Cambridge, to which it was given several years ago in return for another plot of land could not be confirmed.
It is not believed that the use of this room by the Naval Science Department will interfere with the installation of a dining hall for Law School men on the floor above, in case that that project ever materializes.
