Wolfgang Magnus, former student of the University of Berlin, formally opened the first meeting of the Harvard League of Nations in the New Lecture Hall last Friday evening, with 28 nations represented in the roll call of delegations, and a total of approximately 500 persons in attendance either as delegates or spectators. W. P. Maddox, instructor in Government, a member of the delegation from the United States, was unanimously elected President of the Assembly.

Opening the debate the speaker of the evening was C. K. Webster, professor of History, who discussed the question of Disarmament, its history, and the traditional attitudes of various nations; points were made to the effect that politicians, not technicians, must solve the problem.
