SERIES OF INTRAMURAL RUGBY CONTESTS OPENS

The first series of intra-mural rugby games will open today with a match between the newly formed Freshman fifteen and Winthrop House at 4.15 o'clock on Soldiers Field.

Captain Cabot and Coach Bothner plan to organize intra-mural Rugby on the same lines as other House sports, although at present there are only five Houses with organized teams and one Freshman team. Lowell, Kirkland, Eliot, Winthrop, and Leverett Houses have already made up their fifteens.

The Freshman squad, which has only been practising as a separate entity for a few days, was formed as a result of the desire of numerous first-year men to learn something about the game. The 1935 squad hopes to arrange a match with some outside team later in the season.

The Freshman lineup is as follows: Cadman f.b., Steinburg r.w., Sweeney, A. R. r.w., Cogswell c.3/4, Tyng l.w., Hoguet s5/8, Barton f5/8, Sweeney C. E. s.h., Feilds w.f., Creelman f., Johnson f., Houston f., Thorburn f., Rider f., Meyer f., Ivers f.

University players will be expected to get most of their practice on the various house teams instead of as a unit.
