FRESHMAN LIGHTWEIGHT OARSMEN ARE SELECTED

THREE OARSMEN CONTEND FOR NUMBER TWO POSITION

The Freshman crew received a violent shakeup yesterday when Coach Haines added another crew to the Freshman heavyweight squad of two eights which have been practicing over vacation, and selected two lightweight boats to form a tentative nucleus for the 150-pound squad.

The rest of the large Freshman rowing group has been divided into two divisions for the present, but it is expected that frequent interchange of seatings will take place in the next few weeks. In the University shells a brisk competition is taking place between C. F. Hovey '32, Edward Yeomans, Jr. '33, and F. F. Colloredo Mansfield '34 for the number two slide on the first boat.

The Freshman 150-pound crews at the present date are as follows: Crew D: Stroke, Whitney; 7, Garfield; 6, Bill; 5, pfaelzer; 4, Nichols; 3, Brewster; 2, Berrien; Bow, Hepburn; Cox, Magill. Crew E; Stroke, Jopling; 7, Simonds; 6, Dunbar; 5, Herman; 4, Willis; 3, Mills; 2, Bigelow; Bow, Hepburn; Cox, Harmon.

The Freshman heavyweight seatings are as follows: Crew A: Stroke, Birge; 7, Davis; 6, Saltonstall; 5, Wade; 4, Brown; 3, Lewis; 2, Holbrook; Bow, Swasey; Cox, Cantelmo. Crew B: Stroke, Culter; 7, Bray; 6, Dow; 5, Vanderveer; 4, Keyes; 3, Haberstroh; 2, Storey; Bow, Johnson; Cox, Hunter. Crew C: Stroke, Johnson; 7, Raff; 6, Gleason; 5, Kratovil; 4, Cook; 3, Lowry; 2, Jordan; Bow, Prouty; Cox, Kelly.

Both Freshman division crew squads are composed of three crews in each squad group, and will race in the spring among themselves as a part of the intra-mural sports program, the winners receiving medals. The 24 Freshmen on tl., first division are as follows: Barnes, Candis, Clapp, Cummings, Creelman, Dall, Davis, DeBraganca, Farlow, Greenough, Lowry, McLeod, McGonagle, Mello, Mulford, Nathanson, Paine, Richardson, Thorndike, Stanley, Waterman, Watts, White, and Williams.
