INSTRUMENTAL TRIALS TO BEGIN ON TUESDAY

Holding their initial trials next Tuesday at 7 o'clock, the 1935 Instrumental clubs will commence their series of practices which will continue twice a week for the remainder of the term.

There are to be five separate clubs working together and giving joint presentations, the Banjo, Mandolin, Vocal, and 1935 Gold Coast, as well as specialty acts. These specialty acts will consist of various musical presentations of a novel nature, prestidigitations, comic skits, and solos. At present the schedule is somewhat unsettled, but there will be about six appearances, one at the 1935 smoker, at the Freshman Jubilee, and a grand concert at the Commodore Hotel at the end of the season in June. The other intermediate concerts are to be at various boys' and girls' boarding schools.

Last year there were about 50 members of the clubs, and it is expected that there will be a like number this year, according to the president, F. P. Whitbeck. The other officers besides Whitbeck are H. F. Gillette, vice-president, F. W. Knowlton, secretary-treasurer, and D. W. Lewis, Manager, all of whom were chosen by the Executive Board of the University Instrumental Clubs on a basis of their records in the University Clubs to date.

The following are Freshmen who have been especially interested in the University clubs and will form the nucleus of the 1935 clubs: J. H. Braddock, W. D. Cotton, Jr., N. R. French, H. F. Gillette, Sidney Gleason II, Albert Habestroh, F. W. Knowlton, S. D. Oettinger, Richard Prouty, J. W. Stanley, F. P. Whitbeck, G. W. Wickersham H. P. D. Wilkinson.
