What, No Blood Drinkers?

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

To the Editor of the CRIMSON:

It is hard for one not a dyed-in-the-wool pacifist to follow the rather childish reasoning in your editorial, "The Ugly Duckling" of today's issue.

There is no doubt that military training fosters virtues, sadly lacking today, perhaps even in some college editors, such as a healthy respect for, but not a slavish submission to properly constituted authority.

I fail to see why military science men should be debarred from judging the merits and demerits of their training, on the ground of prejudice. I find that very few of my R.O.T.C. acquaintances are embryo war lords and blood drinkers.

Criticism of your reference to dog catchers and street cleaners would be superfluous.

Sincerely, Duncan F. Francis '34.
