HARVARD SIX WINS 6 TO 2 OVER BIG GREEN FORCES

SECOND HARVARD FORWARD WALL LOOKS GOOD

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Ruthlessly hammering through the most desperate defences of the Dartmouth hockey team, the Harvard sextet won the Dartmouth series for the third consecutive time by a clean-cut 6 to 2 victory at the Dartmouth arena last Saturday.

At the same time, Yale, the Harvard objective next Saturday when the opening face-off of the annual series takes place in New Haven, was falling prey to an inspired Princeton sextet that discarded its this year's role of hockey doormat and overcame an Eli lead to win 4 to 3.

Second Line Good

Harvard's second line of Putnam, Saltonstall, and Pell exhibited its best form of the season, accounting for four of the six tallies, thus dimming the ascendant star of the veteran combination of Wood, Cunningham, and Baldwin. Putnam, who is developing an effective control of the puck that is proving a decisive factor both on defense and offense, took part in three of Harvard's scoring sallies. Saltonstall, who despite his willingness to mix things up and the possession of a powerful shot, has had difficulty in capitalizing his scoring opportunities this season, shook off his jinx and saw his shot nestle in Dartmouth strings on two occasions. The second Saltonstall goal finished off the scoring of the game and was achieved on a solo invasion.
