When questioned late yesterday, R. L. Westcott, superintendent of college dining halls, gave no reason why light wines and beers should not be served in the House and other dining halls in the event that the 18th Amendment or the Volstead Act is repealed or modified.
Hostesses in the dining rooms, following the policy of silence inaugurated by Lehman Hall, have refused to give any conclusive information on the subject, although implying that only limited amounts of the beverages would be served in the hall.
