ELEVEN MEN IN LAST SENIOR CLASS STUDYING IN EUROPE

Seven Competitions Were Open To Men In Harvard Only

Eleven members of last year's Senior Class in the College are now in Europe on prize scholarships for foreign study and travel, it is announced, following a recent survey. Seven of these men are taking advantage of awards that were open only to Seniors of Harvard College, and the remaining four won in competitions with students from other colleges.

The Harvard prize awards include the Lionel de Jersey Harvard Studentship for study at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, awarded to Oscar Sutermeistor '32, the Charles Henry Fiske, III Scholarship for study at Trinity College, Cambridge, awarded to G. W. Lewis '32; and the Henry Russell Shaw Travelling Scholarship, held by D. H. Popper '32. The Frederick Sheldon Prize Fellowships for Study in Europe were awarded to D. D. Boyden '32, R. K. Brown '32, Moses Abramowitz '32, and Frank Gilchrist '32. Garrett Birkoff '34 is holding one of the American fellowships under the Henry Fund.
