‘I Am Really Sorry’: Khurana Apologizes for International Student Winter Housing Denials
On the rain-soaked practice field yesterday afternoon, Coach Casey put the Varsity football squad through one of the most strenuous two-hour workouts since the Dartmouth game. In spite of the fact that the Crimson is still hampered by a long list of injured players, the teams seemed to have some of the speed and power that distinguished the Harvard scoring machine last year. In the 30-minute offensive scrimmage with the Jayvees on Harvard plays, both the A and B teams appeared to function with more snap and eagerness than in any game spectators have witnessed on Soldiers Field this year.
Holy Cross Plays
The squad also engaged in defensive scrimmage for a quarter of an hour with the scrubs using the Holy Cross plays, but in neither scrimmage did the Seconds make a score.
A long blocking drill started the practice, and the remainder of the time was consumed in a dummy tackling session in which the entire squad took part.
Even with Casale, Waters, Barrett, and Healey, who have never started in any Varsity game, occupying the berths left vacant by Hallowell, Nevin, Dean, and Esterly, the team has a new verve which testifies that the Crimson's chances for victory are better than they were for the Army and Brown encounters. Locke has also adequately filled Crickard's place as number three back.
With the trio of the Crusader's stellar backs, upon which the team relied for its victories over Rutgers, Detroit, Maine, Providence, and New River, reported on the sick list, the passing attack which has frightened other teams may prove an ineffective threat for Captain Hageman's men. Rovinski, however, who is the quarterback of the purple-shirted team, will not be an easy man to stop.
