HUA Election Will Feature No Referenda or Survey Questions
At a recent meeting of the Harriet Newell Lowell Society for Dental Research, David E. Hunn, 4D.D.S., was elected president of the organization for the coming year. The society is a student research organization, which holds monthly meetings.
In addition to Hunn, Richard Wason Lawrence, 4D.D.S., was chosen vice president, and Louis Kroll, 3D.D.S., secretary. The treasurer is to be Frank Albert Nemee, 3D.D.S. The list of speakers and their subjects was also announced and is as follows:--November 9, Dr. W. B. Cannon '96, "The Element of Chance in Research." December 8, Dr. P. E. Boyle, "Abnormalities in the Calcification of Teeth." January 12, Dr. C. C. Suminous, "Cancer." February 9, Seminar night, at which the Juniors will read their tutorial papers--Dr. G. H. Wright in charge. March 9, Dr. R. J. Nagle, "Researches in Metallurgy." April 13, Ladies Night--no speaker as yet. May 11, Graduates' Night--fellowships awarded.
Officers Elected
Officers of the Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman classes of the Dental School have also been chosen. Stephen Carrier Gallahue, 3D.D.S. was elected President of the Junior class, while Frank Stephen Carbone, 3D.D.S. has been picked as vice president. The secretary for this year will be Sven Oscar Svenson, 3D.D.S., while Richard Constantine Mangiarcina, 3D.D.S. has been elected treasurer. The officers of the Sophomore class are as follows:--Theodore Rich Parker, 2D.D.S., president; Sidney Blum, 2D.D.S., vice president; Franklin Nowald, 2D.D.S., secretary, and Edward Roland Loftus, 2D.D.S., treasurer.
