New Haven, Conn., Jan. 7--Yale's finances are in such a condition that the University is faced with a probable $500,000 deficit at the end of the college year in June, it was learned here today from reliable sources. No new faculty appointments will be made during the present academic year, excepting appointments to faculty chairs which are privately endowed.
