8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
The new cafeteria which opened in the basement of Eliot House last night will be open to all members of the University, according to a statement made yesterday by R. L. Westcott, manager of the University dining halls, instead of to House members exclusively, as was originally announced. The cafeteria is open from 8 until 12 o'clock.
No plans have been made to install a soda fountain in the night-lunch room. Complete equipment, including a large stove and refrigerator, has been installed in the room. The space allotted to this equipment is enclosed in a kitchen at one end of the yellow walled room. At the other end are two entrances and a door leading to the wash room. Another door opens into the kitchen.
R. B. Merriman '97, Gurney Professor of History and Master of the House, has lent a set of old English sporting prints which will be hung on the walls of the cafeteria this week.
Tables and chairs have been installed instead of benches. These are grouped around the six supporting pillars in the middle of the floor.
