By defeating the University A Reds, 4 to 1 Saturday afternoon the Class A Whites gained a game on the league-leading Harvard Club Reds, and as a result are now only a game and a half out of top place in Class A of the Massachusetts Squash Racquets League. The Class B and Class C players also won their matches, the B team winning from the University Club, 3 to 2, the C five from the University Club, 5 to 0. The C team jumped four places in its division and is now in third place, behind the Union Boat Club and the Harvard Club. Both Freshmen teams lost, the C players to Walkover Club, 4 to 1, and the D five to M. I. T., also 4 to 1.
The University A Whites defeated the University A Reds, 4 to 1: Beckman Pool '32 (W) defeated A. W. Patterson '32 (R), 15-8, 15-11, 15-9; D. M. Frame '32 (R) defeated J. M. Barnaby '32, 15-9, 8-15, 15-6, 17-16: H. W. Cole '32 (W) defeated G. H. Hartford 2nd '34 (R), 15-12, 17-16, 13-15, 15-17, 15-11; F. O. Canfield '32 (W) defeated H. V. Blaxter '32 (R), 16-17, 15-4, 15-8, 16-17, 15-4; G. R. Clark '32 (W) defeated J. B. Walker '33 (R), 17-14, 15-11, 15-11.
The University B team defeated the University Club, 3 to 2: Marshall (UC) defeated J. W. Appel '32, 15-10, 13-15, 15-12, 9-15, 15-4; S. E. Davenport III '34 defeated McNamara (UC), 10-17, 15-10, 15-8, 15-13; K. G. F. Balfour '32 defeated Nichols (UC), 16-12, 16-17, 15-11, 9-15, 17-15; Taylor (UC) defeated Edward Orlandini '32, 15-8, 15-13, 16-10; R. B. Green ocC. defeated Cobb (UC), 10-15, 11-15, 18-16, 18-17, 15-7.
