Sophomores Have Chance to Compete for Second Assistant Managership in Six-Week Test

Fall crew will get underway today with a short meeting for University and Freshman candidates in the New Lecture Hall at 2 o'clock. C. J. Whiteside, head crew coach, H. H. Haines, Freshman coach; and Captain T. E. Armstrong '32 will talk. At 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon aspirants from the Class of 1935 will report to Weld Boat House for workouts in the Leviathan and in shells.

The first meeting of the University squad is scheduled for 4 o'clock tomorrow in the Lowell House common room. Whiteside, Fred Sullivan '27, coach of the 150-pound squads; E. J. Brown '96, who will be in charge of House rowing; and Armstrong will speak.

A competition for the position of second assistant manager, open to Sophomores, begins with a short meeting at the H. A. A. at 1.15 o'clock today. "The competition," crew managers state, "offers an excellent opportunity to Sophomores, as it is the least arduous of all major sports competitions, lasting but six weeks.
