H. W. Holmes, professor of Education and dean of the Graduate School of Education, delivered the commencement address at the University of Pittsburgh on June 10. He selected as the topic for his talk to the members of the University's graduating class "Substances and Shadow in Education."
As a part of the graduation exercises the University of Pittsburgh conferred on Dean Holmes the honorary degree of LL.D. The President of the University officiated in the ceremony.
